Friday Furniture – Goodwill Vanity

This classic beauty our daughter found at the Goodwill.

( Not the best after picture with the BBQ grill in the background :/ )

This is what it looked like when we picked it up.

We loved the burled wood on the front of the drawers but it was in horrible shape :(

Our hope was to restore this little beauty back to her original self.

We got on-line and found some burled white ash on e-bay and snatched it up.

The drawers turned out

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!

We removed the trim and old laminate.

Attached the new stained laminate by applying some wood glue and rolling with a vinyl floor roller.

And attached the re-finished trim.

Love the little jewelry boxes on the top.

  2. Wow! You're like a Hollywood plastic surgeon for aged wooden furniture! I love it when someone takes the time to bring an piece of wooden furniture back to it's former glory!

  3. So glad you were able and wanted to bring this beautiful piece back to it's original self. What a shame it would have been to see it trashed even more than it had been. What an absolutely exquisite job you did. Very talented, so glad for a wonderful old piece. Glad you left the wood to show also.
