I remember our first apartment like it was yesterday.
A place to call our own.
Our furnishings sparse.
We picked up little things here and there at local thrift shops and garage sales.
My Mother was a “thrifter” .
I remember when I was in kindergarten and our family was stationed in Texas my Mother volunteered for the NCO Club Thrift shop.
I would walk there after school, on the days she volunteered and look through all the stuff.
My favorite part was finding a good book and a quiet corner :)
I grew up in thrift stores and love a good bargain.
Our son recently got his own place, so today we thought we would crash their apartment and show you some of the great ideas they have come up with for decorating on a budget.
I am going to start in their kitchen with this
Bicycle
How cool is this!
So much character!
I love the idea of parking this handsome fella in their kitchen.
This wall art is made from an old ping pong table that we found at the Goodwill.
He painted the front white and glued on some cardboard pieces.
VERY CREATIVE!
Here is an old chair we had in our garage that we painted red.
And recovered with denim material.
They pulled out some of their pieces from good ol’ high school ceramic class.
They look great!
AND
You can’t beat the price!
The coffee table/cart was a gift from us.
Here is a before picture.
They picked up some in-expensive frames from Target and framed some artwork.
More free artwork made out of old barn board.
These guys were a garage sale find.
Natural Wood Bark Covered
Colored Pencils!
Great Vintage Desk Chair.
One of my favorite spots is at the top of the stairs.
Check out this homemade coat rack utilizing some old door knobs.
Hope you enjoyed the tour.
Thanks Devan and Rony for letting us crash your super cool and hip apartment!
Happy Tuesday!
