$5 Guest Bathroom Makeover

Yep! That’s right!

I said $5 dollar makeover!!

HOLLA!

I chuckle as I write this post :)

I still had rooms that had yet to be un-packed from our move and a million other things I should be getting done.

I jump around from project to project and this bathroom makeover is a perfect example.

A few weeks back I woke up and decided the guest bathroom needed some cheering up.

And so it begins :)

Out to the workshop I went and grabbed the can of $5 dollar oops paint that we snagged at Lowes (for the walls), a small can of leftover paint from a previous project  (for the cabinet and mirror) along with a few supplies and got to work.

When we first moved in I hung a mirror and tossed down a rug and left it at that.

My inspiration for this room was this super cute cow picture I snagged from Janet at whitebarnvintage

cow

Along with this fabulous cabinet from our workshop.

Steve removed it from the wall and ripped it down the middle so you wouldn’t rack your head on it.

And we hung it on the wall.

Next up was the mirror.

I painted it with a chalk paint mixture I came up with and distressed it.

Using my cow picture as inspiration I scoured the house for more items.

And this is what I came up with.

final

1.)  The Sterling Heifer is from decorsteals

2.)  The Balls Jars w/greenery I had on hand

3.)  The rusty safety deposit box I brought home from the shop

4.)  The wooden chair was hand carved by Steve’s Great Grandfather

5.)  The wreath is also from decorsteals and the ribbon I had on hand

6.) The cabinet we stole from the workshop and modified a bit

7.) The super cute cow picture is from whitebarnvintage

8.)  The vase was a Christmas present last year from Steve (kinda weird but for some reason I really like it!)

9.) And the copper Christmas tree was a Goodwill find a couple years back.

As you can see below, I’m Still working on the base cabinet.

Yep you guessed it!

I found another project!

The gingham knobs I ordered from Hobby Lobby.

I had used them before on “Little Boy Blue”  and have loved them since.

We also removed the light fixture and I painted it using the same chalk paint mixture I used on the base cabinet and distressed it as well.
